HI THERE!
We’re Annie and Brent, and we’re thrilled to unveil our newest creative adventure: Grace & Courtesy Co. Simply put, we’re an apparel company with a passion for Montessori education, clean design and comfy t-shirts. Annie is a Montessori teacher in Cary and Brent is a writer in Raleigh, North Carolina.
We’re launching our very first t-shirt design in order to raise funds to continue making unique, Montessori themed apparel. You can purchase shirts here for a limited time price of $20. This campaign runs from June 4th to June 24th, 2017.
Update: You can now find all of Annie’s designs and place your orders in her new Redbubble store!

ABOUT GRACE & COURTESY CO.
Grace & Courtesy Co. grew from a desire to stop hearing the question “what is that?” in response to “I’m a Montessori teacher.” After the millionth time of being asked “Is that like a monastery?” we decided more people should know what “Montessori” actually means. To achieve this, we’re working together to design clothing featuring imagery and principles from within the Montessori classroom.
In the Montessori world, Grace and Courtesy lessons give the child vocabulary, actions and steps required to build awareness and appropriate responsiveness to those around them. How to ask for a hug, how to ask for help from a friend, and how to agree to disagree are some examples of these lessons. Essentially, these lessons give the child the tools needed to navigate peacefully amongst their peers.
We chose the name Grace & Courtesy because it serves as a reminder for us to practice what we teach. And couldn’t we all use a bit more grace and courtesy these days?
