These are challenging times and your young child’s Montessori school or inspired day care may be closed for the month, or longer. We know you are the expert on your child AND we know it’s so different to be in the house with the family for weeks on end and out of the regular routine of your lives.
Here to help!
There’s a new private Facebook group just for you- Infant/Toddler Montessori at Home During School Closure: Parent Support.
Please join us!
This group is a place to come for support and advice on things you can do at home with and for your children, and for you. Just for families with young children who find themselves at home, whether due to self-quarantine or illness or school closure or remote work.
We focus here on the infant and toddler; they thrive on consistency, connection, and the magic that is exploratory play. We’ll be sharing Montessori-aligned ideas and practices and simple things you can do at home including:
- Daily plans and ways to set routines
- Indoor and outdoor activity possibilities
- Periodic Q & A sessions, even some Facebook live opportunities
- Ways to relax and take breaks even when you can’t leave the house
- Mindful movement and meditation ideas for children and their grown-ups
And more! This group is an inclusive place of support for all families with children ages 0-36 months. Come visit! You can relax and be yourself as we generate community and support each other in creative connection.
I’m Laura, your Admin. I’m a Montessori teacher trainer at the Infant/Toddler level, Child and Family yoga teacher, and postpartum doula. I spent 2 decades in Montessori classrooms, guiding children from birth through Kindergarten and also homeschooled my son for 9-12th grades. I love tending to classrooms and home settings and the people who bring them to life, with a special interest in creating successful, liberating, inclusive environments for all children. More.
