Are you excited about the Winter Olympics coming up this year? We’ve got a few activities planned to keep up with all the fun!
Stamping the Olympic rings with paper tubes and paint
Cut (or pin-punch) a torch and glue some colored tissue to make a flame
String beads to make the Olympic rings. Figuring out how to make the rings interlock is tricky!
I made these cards with descriptions of each of the 15 sport categories that athletes will be competing in this year. We will use these to introduce the unit and the sports.(Source:Winter Competitive Sports Mini Unit)

Sorting the sports. Is it a sledding, skiing or skating sport? Use the pictures from the 3-part cards for this activity. (Source:Winter Competitive Sports Mini Unit)
Write a Sport Report. We will pick a few sports to follow and record which countries win medals for it. 3-Dinosaurs has some great writing papers that will go perfectly as an extension to this activity.(Source:Winter Competitive Sports Mini Unit and 3-Dinosaurs)
