Lauren’s Montessori Classroom: Science and Geography

February 10, 2017 By Lauren Franchek Filed Under: Early Childhood Classroom Administration Tagged With: EC Classroom Tours

Thank you to Lauren Franchek for sharing her beautiful classroom with us! You can find links to explore the other areas of her classroom at the bottom of this page.

A tour of Lauren's Montessori science geography and cultural area

This is the gorgeous special interest table aka “The Museum”. We rotate the objects to showcase various leaves, plants, animals, remains, etc. that the children find in the garden or bring from home. Depending on the interests of the whole group, the objects can change weekly or even more frequently.

The puzzle map stand and flags

Geography materials. In the small drawers, there are labels of specific land and water forms as well as geographical regions throughout the world. For example, rivers in Africa.

More activities for the Montessori cultural area including music and movement

Lots of botany materials. I also love the magazine holder for rug storage!
