Continuing on with our study of Asia…
Our display took on more of a Middle Eastern theme
I found these treasures on one of my trips to Qatar. The last frame has different colored sand from the deserts of Arabia.
A few items to add to our mystery bag. There’s a glass mosque, a coin purse, and a “miswak“. A miswak is a special twig used as a toothbrush.
Folding a ghutra (also called a keffiyeh). This is part of the headdress worn by men in many parts of the Middle East. The red and white patterned ghutra is most typical of Saudi Arabia. I photographed it next to the 10 Number Rod so you can see just how big it is. That’s a lot of folding!
